The Preschool and Children's Ministry celebrated Jesus' birthday on Friday, December 9 in the Fellowship Hall and Family Life Center. Thirty-four children and 14 preschoolers participated in the Happy Birthday Jesus Party. Everyone ate a hot dog supper before activities began. Children then moved to the Chapel for a special insight of the Christmas story from Mary (Nancy Knowlton) while preschoolers went upstairs for a movie and crafts. After hearing from Mary, children split into two groups and roatated to crafts and recreation. In crafts, they decorated a birthday cake that told the story of Jesus. In recreation, they herded sheep (balloons with pool noodles) and took a census of balloons. Everyone came back together for birthday cake and ice cream, singing Happy Birthday to Jesus! Children brought a gift of diapers and/or wipes for the Cookeville Pregnancy Clinic.
