The Upward Basketball and Cheerleading season officially tipped off today with a Kindergarten Clinic in the Family Life Center and Fellowship Hall at First Baptist Church. Basketball players went through warmups with Lisa Reeves. They then met their coach and went through six stations -- shooting, dribbling, passing, defense, scrimmage and devotion and snacks -- with their coach. This allowed them to learn some basic skills while building a relationship with their coach. Then Lisa helped simulate a game while going over basic rules. Teams then met to hand out schedules, rosters and uniforms. Cheerleaders met their coach and went through a practice. It was a great start to the 2011-2012 season!! Pictures will be posted soon.
